This piece of work is very pleasing to the eye. The choice of the pink background is unique since most of the time one would expect a white background to contrast with the black, however, in this case, the pink goes very well with the black. It is very interesting to how in some areas the viewer can identify what is in front and what is in the background simply by writing in the petals. The writings help the flowers to look three-dimensional and alive from the rest of the grass that are left in black. If this were created on much larger scale perhaps on a wall, the effect would probably be more accentuated.
