Your piece is visually very interesting, as the two subjects of the painting are painted differently, one in color, the other in black and white. This seems to add to the theme of your piece, and it does so effectivly. Your sense of color and different tones, as well as shadows is very realistic on the two people. I also love how there is barely any sense of depth, the two heads seem to be floating, and the background is a solid color. Usually a lack of depth takes away from a piece, but in your case, the lack of depth makes an interesting composition with the strange juxtaposition of floating heads. The chinese character also very much adds to your composition, postivly as it is an inference to your culture, and I think that culture might've very much influenced your relationship with your father. Overall, your piece is very interesting visually, and brings out your theme through various fresh techniques that you used.

I thought that it's interesting how you connected the two heads, (father and child?) and the word with rusted(?) chains, it makes me think that the connections kind of felt a bit heavy. Also you made the word looks "bloody(?)" in a sense that it's contradicting the meaning of the word itself, good fortune.
