really cool paintings

heres this guy i stummbled across when i was looking for this soccer player. anyway its this man who does pictures of athletes. at first i thought they were only paintings, but then i read furthur that he has now converted his style onto the computor, and unless people ask him for paintings he now only does his work on the computor. heres the picture i first found...this one is oil

i thought it was really neat, beacuse i have never really seen a painting with this much movement before, and i also really like the colors. It kind of reminds me of one of my artists in a way, because dega mostly tried to show the movement of just ballerinas..just a thought :)

he does alot of things for advertising agencies. which is really neat and he designed things for the 1994 world cup and other things. heres a link of alot of his other pictures if your interested .... i think there really neat.

the name of the computor program he used is the same one i heard shu talking about (i cant recall/find the name right now, but i remember...)

Stephen Reed

I was researching on some photos that I could use for my project when I came across this. Scrabble furniture! Actually, it's called "Wordplay." This was done in 2004..which was a long time ago but it's still awesome. Stephen Reed installed these in the London offices of Bloomberg. It's supposed to be "interactive" art since people can rearrange the words.

I thought it was really interesting and it caught my eye right away because it kinda relates to my style, with my takeout box being a bigger version of the original and everything. I think it is an amazing idea because well, for one thing its incredibly creative; I never would've thought of transforming a board game into lifesize furniture. Anyway, for more pictures and other designs by Stephen Reed, clickity here.

Kylie Minogue Fashion Exhibition

For my thrid project I am sewing a dress, and was looking for inspirations, I found these photos from a fashion expo of Kylie Minogue's dresses in Englad. This one here is actully made out of magazines printed onto fabric, which are actually photos of Kylie that are sewn together. A few are from her show which is a few places around the world, and a couple are famous outfits from music video clips etc. You can tell that Kylie likes the showgirl/cabaret style outfits, with bright feathers, colours and sequins. Here is the site if you want to see more, though they arn't amazing, I just thought that this picture here was cool.

really really AWESOME digital paint roller thingy

IBART pride.. yay! okay. Me, Susan, Yuka and Cindy went to the Digital Art Museum and it was incredibly awesome....It was ... like wow for an exibition that was free. yes. Anyways, the picture above.. is written on a wall with a laser spray paint . I think this was the most interesting and innovative digital art i've ever come across. The fact that the artist was able to paint our faces instantly on the wall by taking a picture and putting it into his computer was so amazing. He used a paint roller and like started rolling it... up and down on the wall and liek the picture started to take form and ta da... :) the sad thing about this is that the picture gradually disappears... and same with the words...

So yeah :) i think you guys should all go and look at all the cool new digital art. There are alot of other interesting digital things but i find this the most interesting.
